Facebook New Service – Changing the Game Rules

Facebook.com has announced last friday a new Java script library that enables websites owners benefits Facebook features right from their websites.

The library enables its users to make AJAX calls to Facebook Application which will leverage the power of users’ Facebook relationships and numbers – which is more than 50M users where is there about 32 active users – to websites other than Facebook.

according to Wei Zhu from Facebook:

users of this library having two exceptions on this library:

  1. they can’t upload photos to their users profiles.
  2. setFBML is only allowed for the current logged in facebook user.

I don’t think this step was seen before on the web, but Facebook is changing the Game Rules, and moving from being an applications host to the next stage of empowering others’ websites while importing more users as well.
